MTTA Academy
MTTA Academy is a program offered by MTTA, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit educational organization.
The Academy's goal is to help the participants find their heart and spirit through education and interaction. The programs are designed to give a real time experience of the Master/slave lifestyle by the incorporation of protocols and service aspects, along with the many classes of various topics. We strive to set an atmosphere that not only allows for the exploration of the Master/slave lifestyle, but one that promotes self exploration as well.
Both the slave training and the Master training programs are aimed at those who have little or no experience in BDSM and Master/slave relationships, those who are struggling to define their true feelings and identity as submissives or dominants, as well as those with some experience but who are interested in learning the "ropes" in a safe, and caring environment.
Throughout the weekend in all of the programs, sexual activity, or any sexual contact is not permitted by any participant, staff, or faculty member.
Over the course of the weekend, there are a number of BDSM workshops that provide opportunities to learn the basics of BDSM in a safe, sane, and consensual environment. Individual hands-on participation in the SM workshops is entirely voluntary.
The Training Weekend Program -- dedicated to the memory of Master Taíno's late slave tommy -- is a family event. Master Taíno is joined by his slaves as well as other members of his immediate and extended family that volunteer as faculty members or staff.
An excellent and experienced group of local Masters and slaves complete the faculty of the training program.

Registration Information
Location: Master Taíno's residence in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC.
Facilities include: slave quarters, dungeon, meeting area, and recreation area / deck.
Participants: The slave Training Weekend Program is limited to no more than ten (10) participants, 18 years or older of any sexual orientation.
The Master Training Weekend Program is open to males and females of any sexual orientation and is limited to twelve (12) participants.
Participants under 25 have to submit proof of age. Age is not an issue. Our participants have ranged from 21 to 73 years old.
Schedule: The training weekend event begins on a Thursday at 7 PM and ends Sunday no later than 7 PM. Participants should arrive Thursday afternoon or early evening. Early arrival or an additional day stay can be arranged particularly for participants traveling from afar.
Transportation: Most airlines travel to Washington Reagan National Airport. Participants can then take the metro at the airport and they will be picked up from the metro station.
Participants can also use Greyhound buses and Amtrak trains.
Participants should coordinate with Master Taino for best transportation options and pick-up arrangements.
Tuition
Masters Training Weekend
A $450 tuition fee is requested to cover expenses for hotel accommodations (double occupancy), use of facilities, food, supplies, etc.
Participants for the Master Training will be accommodated at a nearby hotel. Rooms include two queen beds for double occupancy. They are shuttled in the mornings and evenings to and from the hotel.slave Training Weekend

Participants for the slave Training are being accommodated at a nearby hotel at NO additional cost. They will be shuttled in the mornings and evenings to and from the hotel. The slaves will be placed up to four in a room in two queen beds.Cancellation Policy
Tuition will be fully refunded up to two weeks prior to the event; 50% with less than two weeks; none with less than a week. Participants who cancel can reschedule to attend a future training at no extra cost.
Applying to the Academy
To apply, e-mail Master Taíno requesting to be accepted in to the slave training. Your e-mail should include the following information:
- Name
- Address
- Phone Number & E-mail
- Gender and sexual orientation
- Age and DOB
- Means of transportation
- Level of experience, if any
Potential participants will receive a Training Application to be completed and submitted to the Director. Upon acceptance, participants will secure their spot for a particular training after the tuition fee is received.
Participants should coordinate their arrival and transportation with Master Taino.

Participants
MTTA Academy began in October 2001 just three weeks after the passing of Master Taíno’s slave tommy. The Academy was first known as “Master Taíno’s slave Training Weekend”, and eventually as “Master Taíno’s Training Academy.” In 2010, the name was changed to “MTTA Academy.”

The Faculty
Master Taíno, Director
Master Taíno has been active in the Leather community for two decades. He is the founder of the Washington, DC Chapter of Masters And slaves Together (MAsT), a member of Defenders Leather Levi Club since 1993, and member of Black Rose since 2005.
Master Taíno is the President of the MTTA, Inc. Board of Director and producer of the Master/slave Conference, an annual event held in Washington, DC since the summer of 2004.
He has presented workshops nationwide and overseas.
At the Academy, Master Taíno presents the following workshops: The Calling for slavery, The Calling of a Master, BDSM in M/s relationships, Cathartic Flogging, the Dynamic of Master/slave Relationships, Masters in Service and Resources. He also facilitates the daily round tables.
Currently Master Taíno owns slave david since 2005 and slave paul since 2010.

Lady Lynette from Southeast Virginia is an alumni of the Academy and was invited in early 2007 to join the Academy as a guest presenter for the slave Training for females. Her dedication and positive impact with the participants was evident and in September 2007 she was appointed as a full-time staff at the Academy.
In 2008, she was promoted to Resident Master of the Academy and in March 2010 to Deputy Director.
In August 2008, She was elected a member of the Board of Directors of MTTA, Inc., the non-profit organization that hosts the MTTA Training Academy and produces the annual Master/slave Conference.
She and her slave lamb competed and won the Northeast Master/slave title at the 2007 Master/slave Conference. Lady Lynette is also the owner of slave llowe.
Master David, Ph.D., Senior Counselor
Master David is a scene-friendly psychologist who first developed his appreciation for "the fine art of BDSM" while growing up in the San Francisco Bay area. He swore to protect the values of a Leather Master and was presented his Master’s cap in Hayward, California in 1969.
He is a long-time contributor to safe, sane, pleasure-filled learning opportunities for adults to explore and expand their self-awareness. He has the ability to befriend people of all ages, enjoys the diversity found in the scene, and recognizes that in our lifestyle, "no one is perfect but, it's important to strive for excellence."
He is the founder of MAsT: Baltimore and remains an active member of MAsT: Washington. He is a long-time member of Black Rose and serves as a Consultant to their Board of Directors. He is Vice-President of Baltimore Educational and Social Society (BESS) and also serves as their Ombudsman.
Since 2007, he has a member of the faculty of MTTA Academy where he teaches "Problem Solving and Difficult Discussions," "Bondage" and "Electricity." In 2008, he was elected to the Board of Directors of MTTA, Inc., the non-profit organization that hosts the MTTA Training Academy and produces the annual Master/slave Conference. Since Summer 2009, he has been the Senior Counselor of the Academy.
Master J, Instructor
Master J is a Board Member of MTTA, Inc. president of Brother Help Thyself, a Baltimore-Washington community based foundation that awards grants to non-profit organizations to implement programs that benefit the GLBT and HIV/AIDS communities.
She served as president of BHT for several years until 2012.
She was awarded the 2010 “Sir Steve” Community Service Award at the Master/slave Conference, the 2007 "Boyhood Award" from the DC boys of Leather, "Black Rose Community Elder Award" and the 2009 "Anthony Bachrach Award" for Outstanding Volunteer Service to the Gay and Lesbian Community.
She is on the staff of the Master/slave Conference and the founding director of MAsT DC Pan. She is a Highwaymen TNT brother and a member of SigMa and Black Rose.
She is a member of Master Taino’s Leather Family with the tile of “Senior Master”.
At the Academy, she teaches the Table Service class at the slave Training Weekend.
‡Master Jack (1949-2009)
Master Jack was a het, male, dominant with a passion for bondage and a long held interest in the dynamics of M/s relationships. He was the Northeast Master 2005, title won during the Master/slave Conference 2005.
He was a founding member of Black Rose and an emeritus member of its board of directors. Previously he served Black Rose in several capacities including Chairman of the Board, President, Secretary and Co-chair for BR10. He is also an emeritus member of the Leather Leadership Conference (LLC), Inc. board and served as its Vice Chairman and Treasurer as well as Co-chair for LLC2000. Jack was the first Chairman of the Board of NCSF.
Master Jack served as Vice President (2005-2008), of the Board of Directors of MTTA Inc, the non-profit organization that runs the Academy. He then served as Special Advisor to the Board from 2008 to his passing.
Starting in 2005, Master Jack joined the faculty of the Academy and is presenting the workshop "How to find a worthy Master" for the slave Program and "How to find a worthy slave" for the Master Program.
Master Jack passed away on August 18, 2009. His last presentation was at our Academy at the slave Training weekend for males held in July 2009.
slave llamb
slave llamb is the Northeast slave 2007 and is owned by Lady Lynette. he is an alumnus of the Academy and a staff member since 2008. He teaches "The slave Perspective," "Communication" and "Accepting Service."
slave rene
slave rene has been in the Master/slave dynamic since 2003 when he attended the Academy. Master Taíno was his first Master and currently he is I service to Sir Brian, from Buffalo, NY. He also has a long term relationship with his life-partner, Joe.
slave rene is a board member of MTTA since 2004. He is a member of the DC Boys of Leather and MAsT Washignton.
At the Academy, he teached “Acepting Service” during the Masters Training Weekend and serves in the staff at most trainings.
orja
orja is the slave of Master Don. Her experience in the lifestyle covers some sixteen years. She has a B.S. in education and her membership in various diversified groups and organizations, past and present, mirrors those of Master Don.
She is the Northeast slave 2010.
orja is a Board Member of MTTA, Inc., a member of the Executive Board of MAsT-Baltimore, Secretary of BESS, co-coordinator of the BESS submissive / slave SIG, Director of the BESS Education Team, and Coordinator and Team Leader / Producer of the BESS Charm City Fetish Fair event. orja was honored at the 2009 Master/slave Conference with the 2009 slave Heart Award in recognition of her many contributions. At the 2010 South
Plains Leather Fest in Dallas, Texas, orja received the MAsT International 2009 Presenter of the Year Award.
At the Academy, orja teaches "The slave Perspective" and "Communication" in the slave trainings for females.
Academy Staff
The Academy also counts on an excellent group of volunteers who assist in different tasks during the weekend, including cooking, cleaning, serving, demos, etc. supporting the participants during their weekend journey. The following volunteers often join the staff.
